Upward Bound Ambassadors Welcome New Students
BEEBE - Upward Bound Ambassadors at Arkansas State University-Beebe recently welcomed 28 new sophomores to the Upward
Bound program.
Upward Bound Ambassadors are a group of 10 Upward Bound juniors and seniors who exemplify the spirit of Upward Bound.
Upward Bound students receive tutoring, ACT preparation, study skills training, academic advising, career guidance, and
personal development opportunities in addition to cultural enrichment activities. Upward Bound provides college tours,
assists participants with completing financial aid and scholarship applications as well as college admission applications.
Upward Bound invites families of participants to attend a financial aid workshop each December, which helps them understand
the application process. Any sophomore or junior attending a public high school in Cleburne, Faulkner, Lonoke, Prairie,
or White County may apply for program membership. Selection critera include demonstrated academic potential and economic
need.

Upward Bound Presents Awards
High school students in ASU-Beebe's Upward Bound program were awarded perfect attendance awards for the fall Saturday
classes on December 17.
The students represented high schools at Beebe, Des Arc, Rose Bud, Cabot, Quitman, Heber Springs, Mt. Vernon/Enola, England,
Lonoke, and North Little Rock. Pictured above (front row from left) are: Stephanie Quick, Brittani Banks, Valerie Hartwick,
